Total Recall (2012)

Lists: Action, Sci-Fi, Remake or reboot

Brief Synopsis: "Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid, even though he's got a beautiful wife who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police - controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen, the leader of the free world - Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter to find the head of the underground resistance and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate."

CinemaVisitor Erik55 - Visually attractive with some cool action sequences but at the end of the day it is just another unnecessary remake without new ideas.

3Guys Griff30 - Total Recall is not very good. It starts off ok and as the movie progresses it falls apart more and more. Action scenes become more and more cliche and character actions more ludicrous and predictable. Despite a strong cast, the movie never rises above being a generic remake. It doesn’t bring anything overly new or exciting to the table.

3Guys Scotty30 - I was unimpressed. It has been a long time since I had seen the original version but I remember liking it more than this version. Maybe it was my age or my lack of understanding good film, I don’t know. This film had some decent gadgets and some decent fight scenes but it lacked any true depth. Not the worst 10 bux I have spent but it was totally forgettable.

3Guys Adam15 - Somehow this film achieved the near impossible, they managed to make Arnold Schwarzenegger look like a master thespian. This film is overly long, with inane dialogue and a dumbed-down plot this film will make you wish you could have the memory of it erased at Total Rekall.
