It was a weekend for sequels, as the top two earners at the box office were both follow-ups. 22 Jump Street took the top spot with $60 M, exceeding the earnings of second place How To Train Your Dragon 2 by $10 M. Maleficent dropped one spot to third, pulling in $19 M, continuing to out earn Tom Cruise’s Edge Of Tomorrow ($16 M). Last weekend’s top earner, The Fault In Our Stars dropped all the way to 5th, bringing in $15.7 M.
